Family, what a year we've shared together!
When I launched Legendary Nights back in January, I had a vision of bringing our community together through music, arts, and education. What I couldn’t have imagined was how beautifully that vision would unfold throughout 2024.
I have to start by thanking each and every one of you who’ve been part of this journey.
From the streets of Watts to the stage at Grand Performances, you’ve been there with me, dancing, singing, and keeping our cultural traditions alive. Some moments I’ll never forget:
- That magical night at Grand Performances in July – y’all remember when we turned that place into a New Orleans Second Line? My 10-piece band, Everything with Soul, had the whole crowd on their feet! The spirit of my hometown New Orleans was truly alive in Los Angeles that night.
- Then there was our return to Catalina Jazz Club on Sunset. That intimate setting always feels like home, and sharing those soul-stirring moments with you all – that’s what it’s all about.
- October brought us to the Taste of Soul Festival. Standing before 200,000 beautiful faces, feeling that energy, that love – it reminded me why music saved my life, and why I dedicate mine to sharing it with others.
- We also celebrated at the Barbara Morrison Jazz & Blues Festival, honoring the legacy of one of our greatest while creating new memories together.
Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited to share even more with you. We’re working on new original songs that tell our stories, planning to take our message international, and I’m finally putting pen to paper to share my journey in two books.
But here’s what matters most – none of this means anything without you, our community.
Every note I sing, every story I tell, it’s all about lifting us up together.
