Performers:
Norman Carter of The Delfonics
Nowadays, when most of the old school singers and groups are hard to find or no longer around, Jamaican/Cuban born Los Angeles-based R&B singer Norman Carter has the skills needed to successfully step up to the plate and carry the musical torch all the way to center stage. With the ability to captivate audiences in both large and small venues, Norman’s journey began at the age of 10, performing at The Apollo Theatre in New York while still in high school. Following his graduation, he graced numerous NYC clubs, including The Boston Road Ballroom in The Bronx.
In the early 1970s, Norman relocated to Los Angeles and performed in various Las Vegas venues where he first encountered The Delfonics. His growing relationship with the group led to William Hart, The Delfonics’ founding member, inviting him to sing alongside him and Major Harris, a partnership that has endured for nearly 30 years. Norman’s soulful falsetto and impeccable style have made him a staple in tours and venues across the United States, sharing stages with legends like War, Joe Bataan, The Isley Brothers, Al Green, Billy Paul, and Evelyn “Champagne” King. Now performing under the name “Norman Carter: The Delfonics Tribute,” Norman continues to ignite nostalgia and deliver timeless performances.
