DESCRIPTION:FA-MLI’s 18th Annual Malcolm X Festival of Arts\, Culture & Education brought a day of live music\, poetry\, spoken word\, fashion and film to the Leimert Park Black Arts Village\, opening at noon with a traditional African libation\, with the State of the Race Forum held at the Barbara Morrison Theater. \nDuring the festival\, a five-mile section of Crenshaw Boulevard was dedicated in honor of Malcolm X\, the result of a co-naming effort Torrénce Brannon-Reese began in 1994.
