Los Angeles, CA (Date) – The Foundation for Arts, Mentoring, Leadership, and Innovation (FA-MLI, Inc.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of youth and communities, is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated “Da Soul of America” tour to New Orleans, Louisiana. Scheduled from October 10th to October 15th, 2024, this immersive cultural experience aims to celebrate the collective experiences and contributions of people of African descent in New Orleans and the Southern region.

Embark on a Cultural Odyssey

As a native of New Orleans, Torrence Brannon-Reese, the Founding Director of FA-MLI, Inc., is passionate about sharing the profound cultural legacy of his city with participants. “New Orleans embodies a rich heritage that resonates through its delectable cuisine, vibrant music scene, distinctive architecture, and the resilient spirit of its people,” he says. “This tour is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the soul of America while supporting the vital work of FA-MLI, Inc.”

A Mission Beyond Exploration

The “Da Soul of America” tour promises an unforgettable experience, encompassing a wide range of activities that celebrate the city’s diverse cultural tapestry. Participants will embark on a culinary journey, savoring the flavors of renowned establishments such as The Yakkamien House with Chef Kandis, Dooky Chase, Commander’s Palace, Soul Food Vegan, Mr. Ed’s, and Lil Dizzy’s, among others.

In addition to the gastronomic delights, the tour will explore the iconic French Quarter, visit the historic site of the Storyville red-light district near Frenchman Street, cruise the majestic Mississippi River, tour the Whitney Plantation, embark on a Swamp Tour, experience a ride on the St. Charles Streetcar, and partake in a spiritually enriching visit to Congo Square, where the origins of Jazz unfold.

The tour will culminate with an authentic Second-Line procession, a quintessential New Orleans tradition that celebrates life, music, and community.
