Join Us for the 3rd Annual ‘Da Root’: Mentoring To Save A Generation Conference on May 1st

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming “Da Root Mentoring 2 Save a Generation” Youth Conference, taking place this Wednesday, May 1st, at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. 

This transformative event, presented by FA-MLI, Inc. in collaboration with CDU, aims to empower youth and foster a culture of healing within our community. 

We invite supporters, educators, parents, and community members to join us in this important mission.

SCHEDULE:

  • Continental Breakfast: 8:30 AM
  • Registration: 8:30 AM
  • Opening Plenary: 9:00 AM

The conference opens with an inspiring session featuring prayers, affirmations, welcomes, and introductions from our planning committee members, along with insightful words of wisdom from our esteemed keynote speaker.

  • Breakout Sessions: 9:45 AM – 11:00 AM

Attendees will engage in thought-provoking discussions and workshops centered around the nine critical life themes of Da Root curriculum: Spirituality, Culture, Career, Education, Economics, Politics, Health, Family, and Personal Responsibility.

  • Lunch: 11:45 AM – 12 Noon

Participants will enjoy a delicious meal and live entertainment before returning for the second half of the day.

  • Part II Breakout Sessions: 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM

The exploration of the nine life themes continues through interactive sessions, where participants will articulate their understanding through various creative expressions and develop personalized nine-point plans for their future.

  • Closing Remarks: 1:50 PM – 2:30 PM

The event Founder, Torrence BRANNON Reese, MSW @ USC, will deliver closing remarks, addressing the conference theme, objectives, goals, and vision, followed by a Q&A session.

Attendees will receive swag bags containing light snacks, critical articles, commemorative t-shirts, caps, and other goodies, courtesy of our organization, supporters, and sponsors. The swag bag also includes a resource-packed booklet to aid youth in finding purpose, direction, holistic healing, and career/job opportunities.


The primary focus of our conference is on treatment, solutions, and holistic healing while addressing the societal challenges that impact human mental health. We are grateful for the support, prayers, affirmations, and positive energy from our community as we work together to empower the youth and create lasting change.
