STEPS TO VOLUNTEERING
Read about volunteer opportunities below so you have an understanding of the duties, location, and time commitment required for each position.
Fill out the Volunteer Interest Form. Please email info@famlisoul.org if you have any additional accommodation needs/concerns.
Attend orientation. Once we receive your Interest Form, we will notify you of upcoming volunteer orientations, which generally occur once a month. During the orientation, you will learn more about Famli, specific roles, benefits of volunteering, and next steps. If you’re applying for an internship, you do not need to attend orientation but you do need to send a cover letter and resume. More information on the Internship tab below.
Interested in gaining professional experience while working with a well-established community organization? If you are interested in an internship, please indicate which position on your Volunteer Interest Form. Then email your resume and cover letter to our Volunteer Team here. We will follow up with further questions or an interview request.
OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER
Not just about collecting money, it requires effectively communicating why the donations are needed. If you have good communication background, great leadership qualities, and work well in a team contact us below.
LEGAL VOLUNTEER
We're looking for volunteers with experience in reading/drafting contracts, negotiations and conflict management. Good writing skills are a must!
STUDENT MENTOR
We value our volunteers who learn the core philosophy behind our nine-point educational curriculum, and can self govern and mentor our students one-on-one.
COPYWRITING VOLUNTEER
Will contribute in researching and writing our newsletter, and social media posts (Facebook & Instagram)
SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEER
Help needed for on the ground producing of our I’ve Known Rivers Film Festival, Classic Photo Project, and our Cultural Tours.
GRANTWRITING VOLUNTEER
Participants will help research and document relevant grants by foundations and government groups. Ideally strong with Google Drive and computer skills.
